This skill building webinar will help you better understand how your residents interpret both verbal and (of greater importance) non-verbal communication as well as introduce several powerful communication techniques especially effective when interacting with the resident with cognitive impairment.

During this presentation, we will discuss:

Verbal communication including listening skills and barriers to verbal communication.
Non-verbal communication (eye contact, facial expressions, touch, gestures, proxemics, spatial orientation, body posture, etc.)
Challenges to effective communication.
Validation and other effective communication techniques.
Environmental adaptations to support effective communication.

What kind of CEUs do you offer?

All our courses include NAB (NHA/RCAL), NHAP, RCFE/ARF, and California BRN (most states provide reciprocation). We do not yet offer social work CEUs, though we plan to in the future.

Do I need to take a test to prove I attended a class?

If you take an On Demand class, you must take a test to verify your attendance. If you take a live class, we must only verify your attendance through sign in.

How do I register?

How will I know that my order went through?
